We are approaching the exact midway point of the NFL season and handcuff season is officially upon us. If you have been proactive and grabbed a high-end handcuff back awesome; however, if you took the wait and see approach well take a look below and see what is going to help boost your roster!

1. Mo Sanu-WR-New England Patriots: Check to see if he is available. Yes, that is correct less than 12 hours off a Monday Night Football win the Patriots send a 2nd round pick to Atlanta for the veteran WR. The move makes too much sense former QB turned WR (Julian Edelman), Rutgers player (The Hoodie loves Rutgers players), super versatile (can play all WR spots) and a very intelligent player. The move signals that New England believes Sanu is the missing piece to the championship puzzle. With New England pushing through injuries at the WR position, Sanu offers immediate upside and value.

2. Benny Snell, Jr-RB-Pittsburgh Steelers: Some fantasy players avoid byes and stashing players on bye for whatever reason. Snell looked really good before the bye taking over for an injured James Conner. Jaylen Samuels is still recovering from knee surgery, so Snell should see an increased workload. Conner missed time down the stretch last season, so Snell is a great insurance policy. Also, the Steelers get Miami off a bye and may elect to be super cautious with Conner and sit him this week which means 20+ carries in this scenario for Snell.

3. Jay Ajayi-Free Agent-RB: Ajayi is working out for the Arizona Cardinals due to David Johnson and his evergrowing list of injuries. Chase Edmonds is looking like a stud but a team needs more than 1 RB on the roster. Ajayi has been very productive in his short and injury-filled career. He offers services as a power back that can melt the clock late in games and was the focal point of the Philadelphia Eagles postseason Super Bowl victory run game. Given the Kerryon Johnson injury, the New York Giants still battling injuries at RB, the Kansas City run game has been lackluster at points this season and who knows what will happen in the future. He will get signed and he will contribute almost immediately. He will sign in a place of need meaning he will get work.

4. Indianapolis Colts Defense: They have Denver this week at home and Denver looked miserable offensively the last time they hit the field. And after that, the schedule looks pretty nice through Week 14, so if you need a one-week or multi-week stream you have your team. The Colts are even more appealing as they can be an every week rest of season play as they have already had their bye. This is a sneaky good defense that can create turnovers. Remaining games: Week 8 vs Denver, Week 9 @ Pittsburgh, Week 10 vs Miami, Week 11 vs Jacksonville, Week 12 @ Houston, Week 13 vs Tennessee, Week 14 @ Tampa Bay. Weeks 15 and 16 aren’t so pretty with New Orleans and Carolina but you can ride them deep in the playoffs.

5. Kenny Stills-WR-Houston Texans: As long as Will Fuller is out insert Kenny Stills weekly until further notice. Houston throws. They want to try and fake you out as a running team because they have a big back in Carlos Hyde but they are a throwing team. Now with Stills as the clear “Pass Game 2”, he should see consistent volume and be in a position to draw favorable matchups opposite DeAndre Hopkins. Stills has been good in Houston and with the best QB play he has had in a few years expect Stills to showcase his underrated ability.

6. Ty Johnson-RB-Detroit Lions: Depending on what shakes out with Jay Ajayi in Arizona, Ty Johnso a nice addition. He showed as the workhorse back after Kerryon Johnson left with injury Sunday. Given Johnson’s injury history adding Ty Johnson is a good move. While the yardage was not there last week the usage was and he handled goalline work which signals he has tons of stand-alone value moving forward. The rookie will give up work in the passing game to JD McKissic.

7. Eric Ebron-TE-Indianapolis Colts: TE has been a tough position to figure out but the Colts involve their RBs and TEs in the passing game heavily. Ebron is still boom-or-bust but he has at least 3 catches, 25 yards, and 1 TD in 3 of 6 games this season.

8. Corey Davis-WR-Tennessee Titans: The Titans won, Ryan Tannehill threw for over 300 yards, Corey Davis caught 1 TD had 80 yards in the game and caught 6 of 7 targets. He was dropped in many leagues because of the inconsistent play of Marcus Mariota. Mike Vrabel and the Titans staff should keep on with Tannehill at QB as the offense looked energized and moved the ball downfield compared to previous weeks. Bet on Tannehill getting better and Davis being the recipient of Tannehill’s improvement. Bonus name on the Titans, Adam Humphries. Just keep an eye out.
