3 Weekly Sleepers

  1. Latavius Murray/ RB/ New Orleans Saints: The offense will need to adjust to life without Michael Thomas and there is a very strong chance the Saints run the ball a little more. However, they cant run Alvin Kamara into the ground early in the season. Enter Alvin Kamara. The Saints take on a suspect Raiders run defense in Week 2. I like Lat to score this week and see about 12 carries.
  2. James Robinson/ RB/ Jacksonville Jaguars: The volume is there. Robinson was the only RB to log all of the team carries in Week 1. Jacksonville views him as a workhorse as Chris Thompson barely played double-digit snaps (12). The volume should be there again against Tennessee. The Titans gave up over 70 yards and 1 TD to Melvin Gordon in Week 1. There is no reason to believe that can’t happen again.
  3. Parris Campbell/ WR/ Indianapolis Colts: He is coming off a strong Week 1 and the Vikings gave up strong games to the Green Bay secondary WRs. I expect this game to be another shootout this weekend and Campbell should be called on to keep the Colts involved. I could see Campbell getting open deep for a big play as Minnesota gave up a few last week. The Minnesota CBs are young andd I expect a veteran guy like Frank Reich to try and attack that group early this week. Campbell also recorded the most snaps in Wekk 1 by Colts WRs.

3 Weekly Fades

  1. Sterling Shepherd/ WR/ NY Giants: It is clear that Darius Slayton is the guy for Daniel Jones and this offense looked awful against Pittsburgh. This offense can’t support 2 pass catchers at the moment.
  2. Boston Scott/ RB/ Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles offensive line is in rough shape and they couldn’t establish a run game in Week 1. Until the unit upfront improves I would avoid the Eagles run game entirely.
  3. Brandin Cooks/ WR/ Baltimore Ravens: He didn’t come out with a bang in Week 1 and things don’t get much better in Week 2 against Baltimore. Baltimore shut down the Cleveland passing attack in Week 1 and nothing is suggesting that they can’t stop Houston too.
