Patriots release TE Tim Wright; Buccaneers could re-claim him after trading him

The Patriots announced the release of TE Tim Wright, QB Garrett Gilbert, and rookie WR Zach D’Orazio on Thursday.

New England also signed rookie free agents LB D.J. Lynch, TE Jimmay Mundine, and TE Logan Stokes to contracts.

Tim Wright was traded to the Patriots for offensive lineman Logan Mankins and now he can be reclaimed by the team that traded him. 

The Buccaneers have the first claim  in the waiver order. So technically the team can get back the player they traded for free.
