Former Buffalo Bill Justin Bannan found guilty of four charges to include attempted murder in bizarre 2019 shooting

The jury was not buying Justin Bannan’s story about hiding from the Russian Mob. The former Buffalo Bills defensive tackle was found guilty of attempted murder.

Bannan, 42 shot acupuncturist Ashley Marie after she opened the door to her treatment room.

According to a police report, Bannan claimed he was hiding from the Russian mafia when he knocked on Marie’s door. Police records also stated that the football player had remnants of cocaine on a rolled-up $20 bill in his pocket. 

His defense team tried to claim Bannan suffered from concussions and other head trauma playing football but the jury was not buying it.

Prosecutors claimed Bannan was not insane but heavily intoxicated the night of the incident. Bannan’s sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 5.

The 12-year NFL veteran was found guilty on four counts, the most serious of which – attempted murder – carries a range of between 16 and 48 years in state prison. He was taken into custody after the verdict was read.
