The team signed free-agent offensive tackle Andrew McDonald, a local product of Indiana University.To make room for him on the active roster, the Colts waived tight end Weslye Saunders.
The decision to release Saunders is a strong indication Dwayne Allen will return for Sunday’s trip to Cleveland. He has missed the last two games with an ankle injury.
The 6-5, 317-pound McDonald has appeared in two games with the Seattle Seahawks this season. He originally was signed by Miami in 2012 as an undrafted rookie.
