Patriots own the Buffalo Bills over their past 28 meetings

brandon spikesIn the past 28 meetings the New England Patriots own the Buffalo Bills. The Bills have only one three of those games.  The Patriots are 25-3 against the Bills, but the Bills look like a different team this year.

The Bills defense is solid, they are shutting down the run this year with Jim Schwartz as the defensive coordinator and I am sure they will be fired up to play the Patriots this week.  Pepper Johnson who was let go by the Patriots will face his former team for the first time, along with Brandon Spikes who was not re-signed by the team.  I expect the Bills to put a lot of pressure on Brady early and make him uncomfortable.  The problem with this game will rely on the Bills offense not the Bills defense.

The Bills will need better play from their quarterback.  Kyle Orton took over last week for the Bills and assisted them in a win against the Detroit Lions, but he was not the reason why the team won.  Let’s face it their kicker missed three easy field goals which ultimately crushed the dreams of the Lions to win that game.  The Bills on the other hand had a few lucky catches from Sammy Watkins to really get them a chance to win.

Just how bad was Kyle Orton?

Kyle Orton’s Total QBR in his debut, the lowest of any starting quarterback in a win this season. That was a pitiful 30.3.

So if the Bills want to win they will need that number to change dramatically, and the Patriots get Brandon Browner and Brian Tyms back from suspension this week. While I will never count my Bills out, if they play like they did last week and the Patriots played like they did on Monday Night against the Bengals the Bills will be 26-4 against the Patriots.
