Report: Saints DE Will Smith was 3x the legal limit when he was fatally shot

Saints have inducted Will Smith into their Hall of Fame
Will Smith was pretty drunk when he was fatally shot according to this report

Cardell Hayes was charged with the murder of Will Smith, but according to New Orleans Times-Picayune Will Smith had a blood alcohol level three times over the legal limit in Louisiana.

Two different sources told the Times-Picayune that Smith’s blood alcohol content was 0.24. Louisiana’s legal limit is 0.08. The toxicology results from Smith’s case have yet to be officially released to the public. Smith’s lawyer had previously maintained that his client was not “inebriated to the point” to which he couldn’t drive.

Hayes attorneys claim that he was acting in self defense, and this news will not help Smith’s case.  This is pretty interesting because it sounds like he was drinking heavily.
