5 NFL players that could be released by Saturday
I thought it would be fun to compile a list of guys who could be released by their teams. These guys I feel are getting passed in their depth charts and I could see their teams cutting ties with them.
Steve Johnson – We said it yesterday, the 49ers are not getting what they were expecting with SJ13. Stevie is a very passionate player who can make an immediate impact, but will need to be with a quarterback like Ryan Fitzpatrick. Fitz has a good working relationship with Stevie and because of his unique route running, the quarterback will have to be on the same page. Obviously, Kaepernick is not able to get in rhythm with Stevie, so he is my first.
Henry Hynoski – The New York Giants have a very solid full back competition, and I think the team will keep John Conner over Hynoski. If Hynoski is cut I can see a team like Buffalo that would be willing to jump all over him. Hynoski can block and come out of the backfield. He could be a huge steal for whoever signs him.
Denarius Moore – I think Denarius Moore is on the roster bubble. Brice Butler has stepped up this year, and Moore had a good showing last night. Moore is ready to make an impact in the NFL, and showed last night he can make it.
Michael Sam – I know people are drinking the Kool-Aid, but when you look at Ethan Westbrooks the kid is performing. Ethan Westbrooks is a very solid pass rusher, and I think the team could more than likely stash Sam on the P/S, especially if no one is willing to take a shot on him for his personal lifestyle.
De’Quan Bowers – I can see the Bucs cutting ties with De’Quan Bowers. The guy has never showed up, and it is sad. The Bucs felt he was going to be a stud, and he has not looked good at all. I could see a team like Indy jumping up and down for D Bowers.
