2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Marquez Stevenson, WR, University of Houston

Marquez Stevenson Houston
Houston Cougars wide receiver Marquez Stevenson is one of the fastest players in the 2021 NFL Draft, and he is a big time play maker as well.

Marquez Stevenson decided to return to Houston for his senior year and that was a great decision. He did send in his information to the NFL’s college advisory committee, but decided to come back to Houston for his final year.

Stevenson has been an All-American Athletic Conference player for the past two years. In the past two years he has racked up 1,926 yards receiving on 127 receptions and has scored 18 touchdowns. He is a big play wide out that has 10 receptions of 50 plus yards or more in the past two years.

Marquez Stevenson Highlights

Stevenson is not just an offensive playmaker, he is a beast as a return specialist. He averages 27.8 yards on kickoff returns and has scored two touchdowns. In the last few years, several Houston WR’s have left college early and it ended up coming back to bite them. Deontay Greenberry went undrafted and Demarcus Ayers was drafted in the seventh round by the Steelers. Stevenson could have been in the same boat if he would have come out last year.

NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes:

When you watch film on Marquez Stevenson you notice one thing extremely quickly. That is his speed, the kid flies off the screen. He has the ability to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. The 6000, 190 pound wide out from Shreveport, Louisiana has been loyal to the Cougars after selecting them over some big schools like Miami, Mississippi State and Utah. Stevenson will be rewarded for coming back his senior year. I would not be shocked if he tears it up in 2020, and ends up hearing his name called. – Damond Talbot, Owner, NFL Draft Diamonds
