Johnny Manziel thanked Russell Wilson for opening the door for small quarterbacks

As a projected first round pick in the upcoming NFL draft, Johnny Manziel credits none other than Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson for helping to diffuse concerns regarding his height and playing style.

“I think he’s kicked the door wide open,” Manziel saidaccording to the Houston Chronicle. “Wilson does some things he’s not asked to do when things don’t go exactly as scripted. He’s able to extend the play.”

“The game’s evolving,” Manziel said to the Chronicle. “More and more (pass rushers) like (Jadeveon) Clowney are coming out of college, and they’re big and they can run. You have to be able to create plays.”

With a great combine, Johnny Football could go first overall to the Houston Texans.  I would be shocked if they did draft him first overall, but we will see what happens.
