Detroit Lions give their safety a 3 year extension today

The Detroit Lions have taken care of at least one of their pending free agents. Lions Safety Don Carey signed a three-year contract extension last month to remain with the Lions, according to a report in the Detroit Free Press.

Carey signed for $730,000 in 2014, $745,000 in 2015 and $760,000 in 2016. The Free Press is reporting the deal has a signing bonus of $800,000 and roster bonuses for $50,000 in the last two years of the contract.
