Tampa Bay Buccaneers need to fire Schiano today, and throw the bank at Lovie Smith tonight
I am sorry, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should be a great football team. They have some very solid football players especially on that defense. The team at this point has nothing to play for do they? They traded their first round pick for Darrelle Revis and have not been able to win a game, so as it stands right now the New York Jets have a very high pick in the draft. So technically if you don’t want them to get a high pick you need to win. This team in Tampa can win, but they are not going to do it under Greg Schiano.
Schiano needs to go, the guy has to get fired soon. If that does happen the Bucs need to throw the bank at Lovie Smith and bring him on board. Get him before anyone else does, and I am sure he would be intrigued to have that defense. The Offense is poor but let’s face it they are stuck with what they have unless they trade someone for a first rounder. Their offense is young, and they can be good, they have a very solid offensive line and running back when healthy. Their tight end is decent and they have two solid wide outs. This team could make a run and win some games with a competent coach.
The Bucs need to make this move ASAP. Let Lovie come in give him 10 days and implement a strategy. They can still win. I don’t know if any team has ever made a move where they hired a coach from the street during mid season, but this needs to happen before a better deal comes along and Lovie leaves.
