Detroit Lions cut TE Tony Scheffler; sign OT Barry Richardson

Tony Scheffler was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft. After seeing limited playing time early in the season, Scheffler saw increased playing time and production after Jay Cutler was inserted as the Broncos starting quarterback on December 3, 2006, against the Seattle Seahawks.

Tony could end up with Jay Cutler again in the Windy city, that was when Cutler was very productive for the Broncos with both Marshall and Scheffler.

The Lions signed Barry Richardson the former Clemson Tiger offensive tackle.  Richardson will wear number 73 for the Lions.
