2013 NFL Draft was a bad one, 57 picks are not on a 53 man roster, WILD DRAFT FACTS

The 2013 was considered a horrible draft if you ask me.  According to Gil Brandt of several NFL teams cut draft picks, which is not good for a scout.  What happens most of the time is an NFL scout from a certain area, puts a player on his or her big board.  During this process if that player is drafted then it kind of falls on the scout.  Well after the 2013 NFL draft, several NFL scouts could be without a job in 2013. Did you know that 57 of the 254 draft picks are not on a 53 man roster.  A total of 31 were cut.  25 of those picks landed on the injured reserve and Ryan Swope retired.  That means that basically, one round was released.

57 of 254 2013 draft picks not currently on 53-man rosters. 25 landed on IR, 1 retired. Other words, less than 1 Rnd of picks (31) were cut.

The best news is for those that were not drafted. Did you know that 70 of the total 270 total rookies were undrafted? That is a huge stat and an amazing number.  Before it was very rare if your team kept one or two UDFA’s. Well just yesterday the Houston Texans kept a total of Four UDFA’s to make out their roster.  This is an amazing stat.

5 teams cut at least 4 draft picks: @Seahawks (6), @49ers (5), @Bengals (4), @Packers (4), @HoustonTexans (4) while 5 teams kept at least 5 UDFAs: @Browns (8), @Texans (5), @Patriots (5), @Saints (5), @STLouisRams (5).  That is a pretty amazing stat.  The Browns kept 8 undrafted free agents. That could be because they are going younger, but that number is pretty wild.
