10 Free Agent signings I could see that would bolster a teams roster

I know the season is not even over yet, but let’s be honest my team is out and I am already looking forward to next year.  As crazy as it sounds, I love to see where some free agents end up because it can really help a team turn their luck around.

Well this year there are several good players at each position, but I am going to list a few and explain in a sentence or two why I think they could end up on the team I chose.

QB

Michael Vick is done in Philly and that has already been said, especially when head coach Chip Kelly said Foles was going to be his quarterback for the next 1000 years.  Well that opens the door for a quarterback who has skills to play at the next level.  Well one team that I think Vick could come in and compete for a spot is Oakland.  I know the fans might not like this decision, but with the right coach Vick is a very solid option.

RB

Maurice Jones-Drew is going to test the market and while there probably will not be a huge market for an aging back, one team that could use him is the New York Giants.  I could see MJD going to the city that never sleeps and tearing it up, especially behind the Terminator John Conner.

Ben Tate has already said he cannot wait to test the market, and Cleveland fans you already know you could use a solid back.  Well here you go, Tate is a guy that can take a game over on one play.  The Browns need to get better at the RB position and they have the money to do so.

WR

Hakeem Nicks is going to leave because the Giants cannot pay both him and Cruz.  Well Nicks will land on a team that could use a one two punch in Pittsburgh.  This is a perfect fit for the Steelers, because Jericho Cotchery is getting older and Nicks is a big durable wide out, a la Hines Ward.  Nicks could take coverage away from Antonio Brown and open the under routes to Emmanuel Sanders.

James Jones needs to find a team where he can be a number one, and that team is the Buffalo Bills.  I know many people love Stevie Johnson, but SJ13 could be so much better working out of the slot.  If the Bills used James Jones, Stevie Johnson and Robert Woods they could be a very tough team to stop.  It also takes T.J. Graham off the field which is a huge step in the right direction for the young Bills.

TE

Brandon Pettigrew will be the guy that replaces Dustin Keller who is coming off an ACL injury.  Pettigrew is injured as well, but is a much younger and sure handed tight end.  Pettigrew will become Tannehill’s security blanket.

OL

Branden Albert is headed to the Oakland Raiders, let’s face it they need a true left tackle, especially with Jared Veldheer leaving in free agency.  Albert is a stud LT that can play both both sides.  Albert will protect for Vick, and Pryor.

DE

Jared Allen is about as good as gone and even though he is getting older in age, he can rush the passer.  Well the Dallas Cowboys finally get a person that can get to the quarterback opposite of DeMarcus Ware.  With Anthony Spencer leaving in free agency, Jared Allen will take his spot and his money.

LB

Brian Orakpo should be resigned by the Washington Redskins but Oakland Raiders throw some major money his way. They want to get the young pass rusher and they do with a crazy contract.

CB

Tim Jennings should have never left the Indianpolis Colts and I don’t think they will let him get away again.  Expect Jim Irsay to make a run at the interception master.  Jennings is a very solid player with great instincts and will be the main guy in Indy.
